What We Believe

The Holy Bible

We believe that the Bible is the final authority in all our conduct and work. The Holy Bible, consisting of 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, and it’s given by the inspiration of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1: 20-21; Proverbs 30: 5-6)

The Godhead

We believe that the one true God exists in three persons – the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections and are equal in deity, power, and glory. (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; Mark 12:29; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ (Messiah), the only begotten son of God, is God incarnate, fully God and Fully man; He was conceive by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life as well as His crucifixion, death, burial, bodily resurrection, and imminent return. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Romans 1:4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:15-23)

The Person And Baptism Of The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement. He indwells, sanctifies, guides, teaches, and comforts believers, sealing them unto the day of redemption. We also believe that signs and wonders, and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today just like in the days of the Apostles in the New Testament. The Holy Ghost Baptism is the endowment of God’s power and is the promise of the Father. It is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking tongues. (John 14:16-17; John 16:13-14; Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:7-13; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)

Total Depravity Of All Men (Anthropology)

We believe that God created man and woman in His own image, was originally righteous and without sin. As a consequence of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, total corruption of human nature and spiritual death have been transmitted to the entire race of man except the man Jesus Christ. All persons were subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. (Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 2:17; Psalm 51:5; Mark 7:21-23; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Salvation And Repentance (Soteriology)

We believe that salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone. This was accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. No degree of reformation, attainment in morality, humanitarian and philanthropic schemes, baptism or other ordinance is required for our salvation. Genuine repentance is essential for salvation and it’s characterized by a changed life. Repentance is the sorrow of a godly man for his sins with decision to abstain from them. This saving grace of God through faith is evidenced by a fruitful, God-pleasing life. (John 3:3-8; 3:16; Romans 3:23-24; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 5:11-13; Proverbs 28:13; Isaiah 55:7; Mark 1:15; Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 2 Corinthian 7:10)

Restitution

We believe that Restitution is making amends for wrongs done against others where possible. It involves returning back where one has stolen things or defrauded others, apologizing to those we offended or slandered so as to have a conscience void of offence toward God and man. Restitution is a fruit of true repentance. (Genesis 20:1-8,14-18; Exodus 22:1-7; Ezekiel 33:14-16; Matthew 5:23-24; Luke 19:8-9; Acts 23:1; 24:16)

Justification

We believe that we are justified from every quilt of sin the moment we trust in Christ as our savior and pass out of death into everlasting life. This is the act of God’s grace whereby we receive forgiveness and remission of sins and is counted righteous before God as though we have never sinned. This is receive by faith alone, through the atoning blood of Jesus. (Isaiah 1:18; Acts 13:38-39; Romans 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 1 John 5:11-12)

Sanctification

We believe that sanctification is another act of God’s grace after we have been justified and freed from our sins. The believer’s heart is purified and made holy through faith in the sanctifying blood of Jesus Christ. (John 17:15-17; Ephesians 5:25-27; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 5:22-24; Hebrews 2:11; 10:10, 14; 13:11-12; Titus 2:11-14)

Water Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of believers in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It represents our obedience to Christ’s command and as a public declaration of our faith to God, the Church, and the world. It symbolizes believers union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Participation in water baptism does not bestow grace on persons nor have the power to accomplish salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15-16; John 3:22-23; Acts 2:38; 8:38-39; 16:30-34; 18:8; 19:1-5; Romans 6:3-5)

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ to commemorate “the Lord’s death till he comes”. It should be taken regularly with “unleavened bread” and the juice of “fruit of the vine”. All believers are encouraged to participate regardless of their membership status, and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination so that nobody should eat and drink unworthily. (Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

Redemption

We believe that redemption from the curse of the law, healing of sickness and disease are available to all people through the sanctified death of Jesus Christ. (Exodus 15:26; Deuteronomy 7:15; Psalm 103:1-5; Proverbs 4:20-22; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; 9:35; Mark 6:10-13; 16:15-18; Luke 9:1-2; 10:1-9; 13:16; John 10:10; 14:12-14; Acts 10:38; Galatians 3:13-14; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 3:8; 3 John 2)

Missions

We believe that Jesus commanded every believer to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world. Personal evangelism is a God given ministry for every believer. It is impossible to be loyal to the great commission without active participation involving our time, talent, and money in the spreading of the Gospel to the lost humanity. (Proverbs 11:30; Ezekiel 3:17-21; Daniel 12:3; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-49; John 17:18; Acts 1:8)

Marriage

We believe that God ordained a life-long marriage covenant between husband and wife. God created humankind in His image, therefore men and women are of equal dignity and worth. Nevertheless, God commanded a husband to love his wife as Christ love the Church, while a wife is to submit herself to the loving leadership of her husband as the Church to the headship of Christ. Scripture prohibits any sexual acts outside of the bounds of marriage covenant. We also affirm that we are called to minister with love and compassion to those who suffer the consequences of its brokenness. (Genesis 2:18-24; Proverbs 31:10-31; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 5;31-32; 19:3-9; Mark 10:2-12; Luke 16:18; John 4:15-19; Romans 7:2-3; Ephesians 5:31-33;  2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

The Church (Ecclesiology)

We believe that the Church is composed of redeemed people who are followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and its authority is based on the word of God. The disciples meet regularly to worship, fellowship, make disciples, partake of the ordinances, and glorify God the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. God has given the Church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to build up the body of Christ for the work of ministry. (Matthew 16:16-18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:32-47; 13:1-2; Ephesians 1:20-23; 4:3-12; 5:30-32; Romans 8:14; 12:5-8; 1 Corinthians 6:14-17; 12:12-30; Colossians 1:18-24; Hebrew 10:23–25; 1 Pet. 2:4–5, 9–10; 4:10).

Last Things (Eschatology)

  1. We believe that the rapture of all living believers and the dead in Christ will take place before the Great tribulation and can happen any moment from now. This is the first phase of the second coming of Christ. “In a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound”. (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Philippians 3:11,20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:4-9; 1 John 3:1-3)
  2. We believe in the resurrection of all who have ever lived. Those who have trusted Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence at death and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection. All the saints will resurrect unto honor and glory. The unbelievers who after death remain in conscious misery to everlasting shame and contempt. (Job 19:25-27; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:12-57; Philippians 3:8-11,21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16; Hebrews 6:1-2; Revelation 20:4,6,12-13)
  3. We believe that the Great Tribulation will occur between the rapture and His coming to administer judgments on earth. It will be a time of great suffering on earth under the authority of the Antichrist. Antichrist is a person who possesses a supernatural power and will proclaim himself as God. (Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 8:23-25; 12:1; Matthew 24:21-22,29; Mark 13:19; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; Revelation 13:1-10. Revelation 19:1-10)
  4. We believe in the second coming of Christ to execute judgement upon the sinners. This will be in physical form and will be visible to all just like His going away. (Zechariah 14:3-4; Matthew 25:31-46; 26:64; Mark 13:24-37; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; 2:8; Jude 14-15)
  5. We believe in Christ’s Millennial Reign of 1,000 years on earth. He will set up His kingdom by ten thousand saints. During Christ’s literal reign of peace and blessing on earth, the devil will be bound. (Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:18-25; Daniel 7:13-14; Hosea 2:18; Zechariah 14:9-20; Jude 14-15; Revelation 20:2-3)
  6. We believe in the final judgement of the Great White Throne, when God judges all the living and the dead. This will occur after the Millennial Reign of Christ. The soul and body of unbelievers are reunited and cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. The devil and his fallen angels are sent to the lake of fire forever. Hell Fire is a place of everlasting punishment. (Daniel 12:2-3; Matthew 11:21-24; Luke 12:4-5; John 5:24, 28-29; 3:17-19; Acts 10:42; 17:31; Romans 2:15-16; 14:12; 1 Corinthians 6:1-4; 2 Peter 2:9; Jude 6; Revelation 20:11-15.)
  7. We believe in the New Heaven and the New Earth made by God, where the redeemed shall dwell forever. There will be no more night; the glory of the Lord will be the light thereof. (Psalm 102:25,26; Isaiah 51:6; 65:17; 66:22; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; 1 Corinthians 15:24-28; 2 Peter 3:10-13; 1 John 3:2-3; Revelation 21:1-7; 22:1-5)
